Join us for our first ever Energy Expo/Annual Membership Meeting

Kenergy, your local electric cooperative, is sponsoring it’s first ever Home Energy Expo, in conjunction with its Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, June 3. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

The event is FREE and all participants will receive compact fluorescent light bulbs, buckets, caulk, and information pamphlets and will have a chance to win one of several home efficiency prizes. Grand prizes (worth over $15,000) include a new 2.5-ton heat pump, home insulation; new front-load washer and dryer, and energy efficient windows and a home energy efficiency-rating test.

Mini-seminars and vendor displays will assist Kenergy customers in making their homes and businesses more energy efficient. Members will have the opportunity to register for the grand prizes at the vendor booths. In addition, Kenergy will be awarding prizes throughout the evening.

Kenergy has partnered with Sun Windows, Schwartz Heating & Cooling, Green River Appliance, Airtight Insulation, and Energy Star Homes to provide this free event to Kenergy’s members.

In addition educational sponsors will be in attendance offering information to members about tax credits, solar and green building practices.

The business meeting portion of the evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately 40 minutes. At the conclusion of the business meeting, Kenergy will award twenty $500 scholarships by method of a random drawing.

Complimentary hot dogs, popcorn, and soft drinks will be available.

Directions to the Sportscenter

The Sportscenter is located at 1215 Hickman Avenue, which is off of West Parrish Avenue in Owensboro and is easily accessed from Owensboro's main north-south thoroughfare - Frederica Street/US 431 or from the Henderson-to-Owensboro Audubon Parkway by taking the right lane Exit 24 ramp at the end of the Parkway onto the US 60 Bypass/Wendell Ford Expressway and then taking the Parrish Avenue Exit, and turning left into Owensboro.
