Cake for Dummies
By David Sunn, McLean County Emergency Management Director
1 box of Butter Pecan cake mix
1 container of store-bought cake icing (caramel — or you can experiment)
In a large mixing bowl, combine the box of Butter Pecan cake mix with all the ingredients called for on the back of the box, as if you were making the boxed cake mix alone. After you've mixed those ingredients, add half of the contents from the container of cake icing to the batter. Add nuts if you desire.
Pour the batter-icing mixture into a greased, rectangular baking dish. Bake as directed on the box.
When the cake is done, placed the reserved icing in the microwave. Heat it until it becomes liquid. Dribble it over the cake.
