2 c Bisquick Original baking mix
2/3 c milk
1/2 c shredded Cheddar cheese (2 ounces)
1/4 c stick margarine or butter, melted
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Heat oven to 450 degrees.  Mix baking mix, milk and cheese to make a soft dough.  Beat vigorously 30 seconds. Drop 10 to 12 spoonsful of dough on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Mix margarine and garlic powder.  Brush on warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet.  Serve warm.

You can make a lighter version by substituting Reduced Fat Bisquick, skim milk and reduced-fat Cheddar cheese. Omit the margarine.  Increase the garlic powder to 1/2 teaspoon and stir it in with the baking mix.  Spray warm biscuits with butter-flavored nonstick cooking spray if desired.
