Program Overview

Zero-Interest Loans
Kenergy assists new and expanding businesses and industries in financing job-creation projects through the Rural Utilities Service Zero-Interest Loan Program.  Minimum and maximum loan amounts are $1,000 and $740,000.  Interest on the loan is zero percent (0%) for 10 years.  All loans must be approved by the Kenergy Board of Directors in accordance with its policy.  Also, the loan must be secured by a bank letter of credit, also approved by the Kenergy Board of Directors.

Economic Development Assistance
Kenergy will provide a dollar-for-dollar match on specific economic development projects, including trade show/recruiting event registration, booth fees, lodging, food and beverages, and transportation; Web site development and maintenance; site development feasibility studies, marketing, ad placement and infrastructure.  Maximum possible funding per project is $1,000. 

Applicants must identify a specific project and submit an Assistance App.pdf within the calendar year the project is completed and paid for.  The following counties are eligible for funding:  Caldwell, Crittenden, Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, Hopkins, Lyon, McLean, Ohio, Union or Webster.  Each project will require a separate application.  Payment documentation is required in the form of receipts and/or invoices.  All projects are funded on a first-come, first-served basis.

KIED Scholarships
Kenergy offers two tuition-only scholarships for the Kentucky Institute of Economic Development (KIED) to economic development professionals and community leaders.

Alliance Program
Funding is available to local Economic Development organizations employing a full-time director in one of the following counties:  Caldwell, Crittenden, Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, Hopkins, Lyon, McLean, Ohio, Union or Webster.  A semi-annual Activity Program Report will be required to receive funding.
