Kenergy hires Vice President of Operations

HENDERSON, Ky. — Kenergy Corp., an electric distribution cooperative that supplies power to 14 counties in western Kentucky, announced Monday, Nov. 28, it has hired Kenneth R. Stock as the co-op’s Vice President of Operations.
Stock plans to assume that role on Wednesday, Nov. 30. He replaces Gerry Ford, who retired in October after serving as Vice President of Operations since January 2000.
“We are pleased that Kenneth has agreed to join Kenergy,” said Sandy Novick, CEO. “The Vice President of Operations is a critical position for the co-op. Kenneth’s experience includes an impressive 17 years of varied utility experience in both generation and transmission. We welcome Kenneth and look forward to working with him.”
Presently, Stock resides in Belleville, Ill., and is the Chief Operating Officer of Affinity Wind, which is developing a 150-megawatt wind project in central Illinois.
Prior to Affinity Wind, Stock worked as a Project Manager/Production Specialist for Dynegy and as General Manager/Public Utilities Manager for the city of Geneseo, Ill.
During Stock’s career in the utility industry, he worked several years in the region, including Hawesville and Rockport. In the late ‘90s, he worked for Siemens Westinghouse as an assistant project manager, including stints at AK Steel in Rockport and National Southwire Aluminum in Hawesville. And from 2000 to 2003, Stock worked as an Electrical Engineer at Century Aluminum in Hawesville.
Stock earned an MBA from Southeast Missouri State University and a bachelor’s in business administration from Indiana State University.
